Roger Hunt lived in the same village as I did and I remember biking down to his house and standing on his garden wall to see him return with his medal!
I was just trying to imagine getting so close to any present day footballers front garden! There was no security or even press there as I recall, I was 11 at the time!
He was a local hero in our small village!
