In the early 70’s I went to college in Preston when Bobby Charlton was the manager and Nobby Stiles his assistant. The college was directly over from Deepdale and had a football pitch. Nobby often had his players playing on this pitch and would sometimes invite us students to join in.
So although I never saw the 66’ cup final live, I can say that I have played with 2 of the World Cup winners!
