In 1966 I was a young lad working in a Bank in Wigmore St. London W1.
On the day of the match, the Bank closed at 12.00 and I made my way to Baker Street Station for my journey back to Stanmore (Bakerloo Line)
I remember passing through Wembley Park Station at about 1 o'clock I was amazed that so few spectators were on the train and also on the platform. I would estimate no more than 20 people.
Knowing the total crowd was in excess of 100,000 I have always found it surprising that so few people were around, just 2 hours before the start of the match.
I can't imagine it being like that if the match was being held today
