My memories of the World Cup in 1966, was that my youngest sister Janet Potter ( Roe now ) was born, she was called the special one long before Jose Mourinho came along! Janet was born on 30th July 1966, as England won the World Cup, our Dad watched the football first I recall before going to the hospital. We watched the game at our Nan and Grandads house, I think my Mam might have said " I think its all over you can come now" David Potter
I was born nine months after the '66 World Cup final. My parents KNEW how to celebrate. In 1999 my son was born on Bobby Moore's birthday. England, and 1966 is in the blood of my family. Wayne Theobald
I was 20 years old on that memorable day. I watched the game with my dad and brother on a 14 inch black and white television. We certainly had a few drinks that day, and I'm sure there will be a few drinks on Saturday 30th July this year for my 70th birthday. At my family bbq I will try and get a copy of the game so my whole family can watch it on a big screen in colour. Phillip Hewitt
