In 1966 I was 22 and my dear Granddad, Jack Harvey was seriously ill in Whipps Cross Hospital on the day of the final.
I watched the match with my parents and when it was over I knew I had to get to see him urgently to tell him the result. He was an avid West Ham supporter. I got to the ward just in time to tell him the great news, he smiled at me one last time and died.
It was a beautiful day and everyone around was so happy, i felt like I was walking home in a bubble, but there you are, I'll never forget the day.
