17 - Working on the day of the Final Martin Kemp: working in a Post Office on the day of the Final

On the day of the World Cup final 1966 I was working! I was a loyal Fulham supporter from the late 1950's until early 1970's going to nearly all of their home matches. George Cohen, Fulham right back played for England that day.

In August 1965 I started my first job as a Post Office Counter Clerk at Queensway Branch Post Office, London W2. In those days Post Offices were open from 0830 until 1800 Monday to Saturday so I was working the day of the World Cup final.

I stayed working for the Post Office in many different roles for another thirty four years.
